It’s a Boy!!

Thursday, May 30th, 2013

So … after almost more than a two-month hiatus, I’m ready to take up blogging again. One can guess what I’ve been busy with these last couple of months. We tested positive!! 🙂 It has been quite an adventure going through the pregnancy process. I did suffer some mild nausea, but mostly at nights, so I describe it more as “evening sickness.” But other than inconsequential heartburn and indigestion, as well as occasional insomnia at 2 a.m. in the morning, I would not have known I’m pregnant. We’d been visiting the doctor regularly and watching our little fetus grow by the week. At times, I still wonder to myself if this is really happening. It is something we’d hoped for since we got married, but now that it’s here, I find it hard to wrap my mind around this new reality. It doesn’t help that my tummy is not really showing all that much (I don’t think), although I have had to wear looser clothes these last few weeks.

Yesterday, we did an ultrasound procedure called an anatomy scan where they check on the baby’s extremities to monitor growth. At 19 weeks, the technician determined that the baby is right on schedule, growing steadily. It’s something we’ve prayed for everyday, so we were relieved and thankful. It was wonderful to “see” our baby again since the last time. This is the profile shot:

We had a notion that we were going to have a baby boy early on, but this is the proof. He was positioned in such a way that his legs were wide open for us to see the goods. Here is the proof in the pudding, so to speak:

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow! We are beyond thrilled to see our boy. We rejoiced all day and celebrated in our spirits. He is not even born yet and we already love him so much and cannot wait to embrace him into our lives. What a precious gift of life that truly keeps on giving, every hour of every day!
