Festive Fourth

Thursday, July 4th, 2013

We were invited to Huntington Beach for a 4th of July BBQ and Beach fireworks evening. It was my first time to celebrate in a beach town. What a wonderful time with old and new friends. Besides the BBQ, we also had live music with our musician friends. They played several worship songs and contemporary pop songs.

My favorite act of the evening was the accordion piece. The sound filled the whole room and it was divine! I was transfixed on it the whole evening.

After the food and fellowship, we walked over to the beach at around 9 p.m. when the fireworks was about the start. It was a good 15-minute walk from the house. Our host, however, had a golf cart ready for me (pregnancy and all). We weaved around the pedestrians, cars, and bicycles. Then, we sat on the beach and watched the half-hour long presentation. I tried to capture the best ones, but this is the best I could do.

So thankful for this 4th of July party! We hope we get invited again next year!

Changing Table

Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013

Someone sent us a baby shower gift via delivery. As soon as we spotted the box outside the door, we got really excited. It was a changing table for our baby! SX wasted no time opening the gift. Even though our due date is still a long ways off, we are already planning for the baby room, so SX went ahead and assembled the new furniture, spending a few hours figuring out how to put it together. I was little help since I couldn’t lift anything too heavy.

It was a fun and exciting project for the afternoon. It also gave us a tangible reminder that our little one will be coming soon. Thanks, Jerry, for such a generous and meaningful gift!

Date Night Feasting

Monday, July 1st, 2013

We took the time to celebrate our pregnancy milestone by having a lobster feast! We were all too happy to partake of a 5-pounder! We drove all the way across town for this restaurant since this was their specialty. We stopped by my parents’ house afterwards to have a visit before going back home. I ended up driving back because SX had a bad headache towards the evening. Maybe it was the heat or too much lobster. Whatever it was, I still think it was worth the trip!

Another look at our lobster feast! Close-up this time! 🙂
